Lakeville’s Dan Wolter Appointed to the National League of Cities’ First Tier Suburbs Council

Lakeville, Minn. — Lakeville City Councilmember Dan Wolter has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2026 First Tiers Suburbs council. Wolter was elected to a one-year term to develop and guide programs among local elected officials from similar communities. The appointment was announced by NLC President Kevin Kramer, Councilmember of Louisville, Kentucky. “Lakeville is a relatively new member of the National League of Cities,” Wolter said. “This is a great opportunity to both learn from elected officials from other cities across the country and advocate for the critical issues facing cities like Lakeville and our residents.” As a member of NLC’s First Tier Suburbs council, Wolter will play a key role among a diverse group of local leaders to encourage collaboration, networking and the development of resources and programs beneficial to communities that share demographics, size or location that can be replicated across the country.
“National League of Cities’ member councils design and create NLC’s policies that bring together innovative ideas and solutions to the biggest challenges facing local leaders across the country,” said National League of Cities President Kevin Kramer, Councilmember, Louisville, Kentucky. “I am thrilled to have Dan Wolter serve on NLC’s First Tier Suburbs council this year as we work together to ensure our cities, towns and villages have the resources they need to create thriving communities.” This year’s First Tier Suburbs council will be led by Chair David Sander, Councilmember, City of Rancho Cordova, CA; Vice Chair Jackie Boleware, Mayor Pro Tem, Farmington Hills, MI, and Vice Chair Wally Campbell, Vice Mayor, City of Goodyear, AZ.Dan Wolter was first appointed to the Lakeville City Council in January of 2023 and was elected to a full four-year term in the 2024 general election.
